A longtime history buff (ours and those who have bumped up against ours over 250 years), I have visited France, Nederlands, Belgium, Luxembourg a few times touring WWII battlefields. A very touching and meaningful evening I spent in Ypres included the Last Post ceremony performed routinely. I'm delighted to learn so much more about the area you describe AND especially the obvious influences on our Founding Fathers. Thanks so much for exploring this with us here.
