Youtube war correspondent Gonzalo Lira is 'missing'

Call to action: share to put pressure on Ukraine to release this man

I had kept a low online profile during these Easter days (a very happy and blessed Easter to all! He is Risen!), but today, as I started up work again, I came across this message from my friend, Oscar:

The Chilean You Tuber, blogger, writer and film director Gonzalo Lira is missing since Friday the 15th of April. He lived in Charkov, Ukraine, at that moment. He had two You Tube channels. One is called "Coach Red Pill", where he gave advice to young men and the second one, named Gonzalo Lira, is about the war in Ukraine. He lived in Ukraine along with his Ukrainian wife and his two young children. When the war broke out he managed his family to leave the country, but he stayed in Kiev as a kind of war correspondent Rodríguez and later moved to Charkov. He criticized the Zelensky regime and made content in which he analysed the narrative/propaganda of the government of Ukraine. I have met Gonzalo Lira in 2019 in Amsterdam and i know him well enough that it is not his style not to come with some small update. Several You Tubers had an appointment with him last weekend but he made no contact and they couldn't reach him. The internet in Charkov is still working. Where is Gonzalo Lira?

This is serious, and Mr. Lira himself has said how he thought the Nazi's were after him already.

If highly visible foreigners can 'disappear' like this, you know what level of chaos and lawlessness is reigning in Ukraine.

He was critical of the Ukrainian propaganda and some of their decisions, but likewise, of the Russians. He was independent, a free voice in the midst of a chaotic and crazy situation, courageously informing people of what he saw and experienced, even after he experienced repercussions within Ukraine for being a ‘Putin shill’, a pro-Russian agent (he was kicked out of his hotel by a clearly shaken and fearful hotel manager, for example).

His videos and news has been very helpful to get an outsider view from within, on what was going on, and he was very sharp in his observations.

I pray for his safety.

Normally, I don’t try to stay on top of the latest breaking news, as I prefer to wait a little longer and collect more information, but this is different. It might already be too late, but this needs to go viral, to put pressure on the Ukrainian regime, to free this man and protect him from murder by neo-Nazi battallion members.
