This was such a good explanation of freedom. And I think one that is confused by many thinking freedom means you can do what you want but actually freedom necessitates limitations as to not infringe on other peoples God-given rights. So good!! Love the examples you gave, were very impacting. This also brings up a conversation regarding our Christian beliefs coming from a European world view versus an American world view. The idea of the collective versus the individual and how it’s not either or but both and. Something my wife has been talking to God about this past week. And then me bringing up this article was very confirming to us both.

People very often have this 'either/or' mindset, while a 'both/and' works better. Not in contradiction, on a superficial level, but working complementary, on different levels. The tension between the collective and the individual is one such example, indeed. And this can be applied to a lot of other topics, as well, to great effect. Enriching, I find it.
